The History...
Our brilliant founder and talented custom wedding dress designer, Phuong Minh Nguyen, has always expressed a deep passion for creating and designing bespoke, couture gowns. Phuong graduated in 2012 from The Seattle Art Institute, and since then, her brand, dreams, and missions, have only grown stronger and stronger. Phuong's inspiration for constructing unique, one-of-a-kind wedding dresses struck when she, herself, became engaged, and realized her perfect gown was nowhere to be found. This encouraged Phuong to take the initiative, and design her own wedding gown of her dreams. It was then that she found her passion, and goal in life; to provide other future brides with their personalized gown.
The Next Steps...
It was the year 2014 that Phuong founded and established her brand, Dream Dresses by P.M.N. Phuong began designing and creating custom made gowns for women all around the world. Essentially, she filled the gap in the wedding gown market; for women, just like herself, who were unsuccessful in searching for their perfect wedding gown, and needed an alternative. Luckily, Phuong, was able to build a brand that offered a solution. The Dream Dresses studio was previously based in Seattle, WA when she founded the brand in 2014. Now, the studio has relocated to Houston, TX.
Our Mission with Dream Dresses...
The main goal, and mission, for Dream Dresses by P.M.N is to provide brides with an alternative option to mass-produced wedding gowns that one can find in large chain bridal stores. We specialize in designing and making bespoke, unique, gowns that have been meticulously hand beaded, and embossed, by our talented team. We take pride in only using the most luxurious, and high quality fabrics available, to ensure an optimum finish. Phuong personally works with each client on a one-on-one basis to create the ideal wedding gown based on the bride's unique specifications. We enjoy working collaboratively together to make sure you receive only the best. After working with thousands of brides from all over the world, this business model Phuong has created has been a giant success so far. Our Goals for the Future...
Since it is the start of a new year, why not start a new chapter in our professional life? One of Phuong's main goals for the near future is to open a couture fashion house and showroom in Vietnam - Phuong's home country. Fashion houses and showrooms allow designers to experiment with creativity, branding, and collections; ideal for expanding our brand. Phuong not only wishes to open a couture fashion house in Vietnam as this is her motherland, she also plans on establishing her brand, and name, in the East, offering the same service Dream Dresses delivers to brides in the West. Phuong feels proud to have made a name for herself in the West, and dreams of the same success in Asia.
Our Achievements...
We have been thrilled our brand, and aesthetic, have been celebrated, and appreciated by not only our clients, but by other designers, and artists. We are delighted to have achieved 'Winner of Bellevue Collection Independent Designer Runway Show 2015'. As a result, online magazines have recognized Phuong, and the brand's, talent. Seattlemet.com published that "[Phuong's] tailoring was impeccable and her understanding of the female female form outstanding" (Amanda Zurita, 2015). Dream Dresses have also been proudly showcasing our couture gowns all over the world, and our designs have been featured in a variety of fashion magazines. We can only dream of more success on our path to helping budding brides feel their utmost confident on their special day.
Our Aesthetic...
As touched on early, here at Dream Dresses, we relish in the fact we use only the most luxe fabrics to create your unique gown. Phuong's design aesthetic is a combination of modern and romantic, mixed with high fashion. We aim to give our client's a luxury feeling when they are wearing our products; every bride deserves to feel like a princess. Phuong enjoys fusing different materials, fabrics, and textures in her designs, to ensure bride's receive the best quality, and opulence. This twist allows room for experimentation in the design process. Furthermore, Phuong delights in creating colorful, less traditional gowns, catering to brides that want to go outside the traditional margins of white. Future brides can really acquire their perfect gown here, no matter the color, length, style, or flare. A colorful gown also nods to Phuong's Vietnamese heritage, as in Asia red is a popular choice for wedding gowns, connoting luck, and prosperity. Phuong feels passionate about designing the traditional Vietnamese dress, áo dài, paying homage to her roots, and to maintain her heritage's tradition. Phuong's áo dài designs include a conventional style, with a modern twist; combining the old with the new. There is no doubt a style for everyone at Dream Dresses; we can make your dream a reality.
